  1. I'm really enjoying the VidZone update. Been watching VidZone since I got home from work. Gone are all the annoying adverts - well not gone, but thankfully they're a lot less frequent. Not tried the search yet but it looks like it's gonna be easier / faster. Best fix for me is support for the official Blu-ray remote! At f***in' last! I mean it's properly supported - i.e. the play and pause buttons work, as does track skip. This isn't even mentioned in the release notes for the update - call it a stealth patch. Maybe the devs weren't keen to shout about having fixed something that should have been there since day one.

16:9 resolution is now supported in some videos. Nice, although when the video fills up my entire screen (only 32" mind) it reveals the poor quality of older videos.

And what's this feature where all PSN friends can see which VidZone video I'm watching!?!? Who asked for this?!? From now on I think I'll need to limit my viewing of "sporty" videos like Alex Gaudino's, "Watch Out" to perhaps 2-3 plays per hour.

Just noticed that even the menu and display buttons on the remote do what they're supposed to in VidZone. Nice job guys.

  3. *groans* :D

DiRT2 is damn good fun, different from the first game due to added Xtremeness and dropping other things. will do a little write up this evening.

got to level 13 already and already broke £1,000,000 in race earnings.

  4. can you convert that to real money?

  5. no, but it does convert into 'smug' pretty well

    *smugsmugsmug*

i did try it on the 'easy' setting and wondered were all the other drivers went, damn, you'd have had to have never seen a car ever to fail on that setting.

i'm all about the 'serious' level. things get taken up a notch once you get into the 'pro' races and team events. nice. :)

plus it has numpty killers for those special people online who try to fuck your shit up, i think they've learnt a big lesson from GRiD online.

  6. Vidzone is pretty good, but as PS3 has a browser i just use youtube, has a larger selection imo.

Dirt 2 is pretty good, but i'm starting to feel they've pushed the current consoles as far as they can. Anyone else feel the same?

  7. @ e-role - i dunno if they have pushed 'em, got to remember that the games being developed are built to run on both systems really, i do think the PS3 can do much more, look at how long it took the PS2 to get those great looking titles. early days yet.

apparently the 360 version of DiRT2 suffers from frame slowdown and judder at various times, i haven't noted any such problems on the PS3 version. i also read in 360 magazine they can't get the in car view in Forza 3 running at anywhere near 60Hz -hehehe- leaving that one a bit late guys, only a month until it hits the shelves.
