  1. I like it I like it!
*still reeling from the shock of the PS3 slim announcement*

Animated themes are a nice touch! Sparkles? I thought I was seeing static on the video at first! and the XMB does look better organised in FW 3.0. Damn I need to check out that Pulse video - the presenter chick looks hot!

  3. It's not the mental 3.0 everyone hoped for though is it? That'll be fm 5.0 probably.

  4. i don't know what people expect from FW updates, personally i'd like a new visualizer (milkdrop) but so long as i can play games and watch films and listen to my music i'm happy. everything else is just so much more clutter on my screen/menu.

did we need it to have fun on the PS2?

the friends list is the best feature still i think and i am warming to trophies slowly loads of games there that i only have like 4% off though but i do rent games and a weekend isn't enough time to trophy hunt.

  5. A question for you chaps, this came up at work today and i couldn't answer it.

if you have two or more PS3s in a room, for a LAN party say, how do the controllers know what console to work on?

i had a vision of someone pressing 'home' and all of them firing up, and what if the guy in the apt' above me got one could i turn his on with my joypad, i know it has the range. i know it should be simples to explain but i couldn't think how you could have a room of console and pads and them all work together. :\ *puts on i am stupid hat* halp.

  6. bluetooth pairing I think. Once a pad had been paired with a ps3 it will only work with that console (unless you unpair/pair with another ps3).

When I take a spare pad round to my mate's house I have to plug it in via usb first before it will recognise and stop bloddy flashing!!!!

  7. pablo is dead on - there won't be a problem and pack a few usb leads to sort the pairing out if you swap about.

I've decided I agree with tone on the FW updates mostly - the game is the star - although I'd like to see a marker to show who has a headset on, and the built in chat is really clumsy - it's pretty unusable which is a shame.

  8. fanx guys. i knew it had to be something simple, never realised the pad wouldn't work unless paired, 'cause when you get one you have to jack it into the console to charge it anyways. sneaky.
