I finally made time to watch it. Looks like this game has a decent story. The gameplay footage at the end was good too. Looks a lot more edgy (and violent) than GTA IV. I recently tried to play GTA IV again having not played it for months. I only managed to get a couple of hours in to the game (about as far as I managed when it came out). It's just soooo boring!
after this prologue section of missions, the story splits into three paths, each one dealing with a different gang in the city, i've been mostly dealing with the Ronin who are kill bill yellow sword swinging motorbiking ninjas.. (sword vs duel wielded tek-9s hmmm -haha-) you can pick what missions to play in true sandbox style or just goof off doing 'distraction' side mission/mini game stuff like 'hitman' self explanitory really, or 'chopshop' where you steal cars to order, theres many many distractions.
the run and gun play is very much like Warhawk, not the lock-on style of GTA, and a quick stab of R3 brings you in to an over the shoulder 'fine' aim view, you can load-out with up to 8 weapons and 4 'health' *coff*beer and blunts*coff* packs. once you get respect and complete missions you can take fellow gang bangers along with you, i can currently take 3 additional folks, handy in the later missions where all kinds of shit breaks loose :D
