PixelJunk Shooter is here!

I've been waiting for this one. Played for an hour or so and it doesn't disappoint so far. In fact it's extremely good - maybe even PixelJunk Monsters-good! Will post some more thoughts on it when I've had more chance to play. In the meantime check out the video to see me opening a can of whoop-ass on the first stage :) Are you guys playing it too? What do you think so far?

  1. Actually if you watch the vid you'll notice that I accidentally take out one of the guys I'm supposed to rescue! In case you're wondering - there's a video-recording feature in the game and you can upload directly to youtube or save to the XMB videos. I can see this will be addictive as there's of items to find and collect. Also, I expect I'll be striving to get better and better times through the stages (all ranked online). Like I say, all good so far.

  2. Arrrrgh! -haha- :)

not been a fan of PixelJunk games so far, not sure why but they just don't float my boat, and this is a bit too close to Gravity Crash to make me think of owning both titles.

    does look kinda nice though.

  3. The main difference to Gravity Crash is that there's no gravity affect on the craft itself in Shooter. But yes, I agree there are big similarities and that's actually why I didn't buy Gravity Crash.

  5. congrats Mit my man.

Of all the pixeljunk games, this one appeals to me most. May have to take a look.

By the way, anyone here ever worked in the US? I am thinking about relocating!

  6. I completed Gravity Crash Campaign and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the level editor doesn't excite me personally, decent user levels would, BUT access is REALLY poorly implemented - you cant find any decent user levels to play! If this fixed this quick, then great, but meanwhile the replay value has gone and I'll be DL'ing PJ Shooter this w/e

  7. @Pablo - you should check out Monsters as well. It's one of my favourite games. Definitely the best two-player co-op game on PS3. I like Eden as well although it's very frustrating at times. Tried the demo for PixelJunk racers but didn't rate it.

Yeah played the demo of racers too. You can tell it was the first title as it doesn't really 'fit' with the rest of the PJ games.

  9. was having a good giggle at fairytale fights...dont thinks its worth a fully boxed retail gameprice...but as a PSN title it could do some damage!

  11. Just had a play through of the Dante's Inferno demo.

Not too shabby actually. Quite enjoyed it.

It does rip a hell (ho, ho) of a lot of ideas from God of War (QTEs, riding atop huge monsters, even hammering a button to open a health statue-thing), but the demo certainly put the full game on my radar. It's on the US store (coming to EU next week I think).

    Try it out.

  12. Just finished the first chapter, quite enjoyable if basic in structure, i only hope the elements change enough to keep me hooked, awesome soundtrack too.

@ tone- yeah felt ace getting the ol' plat, 55 hours into mw2- the coop in that game is truly ace, if anyone needs any help in spec ops give us a shout- 20 hours of experience and at least 500 deaths puts me in pole position in how to ace it ;)

Just out of interest whose got mw2?

  13. @mittens - I have mw2 but I haven't opened the cellophane yet! Too busy finishing Drake / Critter Crunch and now PJ Shooter.

PJ Shooter again. I've noticed there's a delay in getting your score submitted for the rankings. I'm currently in about 40th place for the first stage. Yesterday I got into 14th place - it just won't submit my score! Oh well I expect after a few weeks I'll drop below the top 1000 anyway. Kind of like when Super Stardust HD came out. It's easy to get a good ranking on the first few days after release but then everybody else catches up!...
