Global Network Lockdown

Kotaku has got loads of comments on this issue

Sony are also 'aware that many of you are having difficulty'

[EDIT 6:00PM] Official line from Sony, DO NOT USE YOUR PS3 PHATTY!

"We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data."

  1. Muahahahahaha!!!!

Purely happening because my Phat died...IT HAS ITS REVENGE!!!!

  2. My collection or pertinent statements so far (including what can be done to address the problem & thoughts on why Sony are not commenting beyond acknowledging the problem) at present:

Anybody unable to sign into playstation network right now? Error code "8001050F"

    [ ]
(Page 9, although I do comment further back in the thread as well)

The last statement on Page #9 I feel is probably the most important to take away from the thread...

What I will add, though, is that although this is an inconvenience to many of us (and as some of you will know I am a video games fan), it is just a home entertainment system. We still have a roof over our heads, clothing, heating, food on the table, and money in our pockets.

Some people in the world do not have any of those & will never know what a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii console looks like (never mind find their gaming time is interrupted for just a single day, a week, or whatever).

    Just put it into perspective.

  3. @FP - more frags less tree hugging please!

  4. this would happen the day SO:TLHi turns up.

looks like Sony is going for that wait until midnight to see if it fixes itself approach.

@fp - have any of your phats been affected?

"Some people in the world do not have any of those & will never know what a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii console looks"

they should get their priorities right then :D

  5. why is this an issue though, my Dreamcast
has thought it's September 1999 for years
    without any troubles.

  6. hello all, hope you're all well :) think its worth risking turning my phat 60g on? I just moved house and finally wired everything up then I read about this..

now I'm scared to turn it on, its been freezing up alot recently :S

  7. sod it.. I can wait til tomorrow

    Nice site btw :)

  8. MARVZILLA!! i wouldn't risk it mate. i'm waiting on seeing what Sony has to say about it all.

  9. my phat bastard is now in hybernation-mode - snuggled up under a blanket with a large brandy and big bag of pr0n. I think he'll be safe there until Kaz whats-his-name gives us the all clear. It just ain't worth the risk of losing my single platinum trophy!

  10. apocolyps3 now :(

  11. hi again to all you lot BTW, mr Sketch, mobiletone, fp, everyone! it would appear i have time to use my pc again

  12. My fat is begging me to turn it on...shall i put it out of its misery?

  13. nooooooooooo dont do it. doesnt look like the midnight cure worked, but tomorrow is a new, hopefully trophy-safe, day!

  14. greets photek - you must be a drum n bass fan, right?

  15. It's fixed!
Seriously Sony how hard can it be to correctly establish a leap year from within the firmware?!

if (year modulo 4 is 0) and (year modulo 100 is not 0) or (year modulo 400 is 0)
    then is_leap_year

I'll crash the network soon....oh yes...

    *evil eyes*

  17. @Reakt yeah, and much much more besides mate. keep trying to get my four year old into a bit of d+b, or even NineInchNails, but i cant stop her wanting to play super bloody rub-a-dub instead...

  18. @photek

stick him/her in zone mode on Wipeout HD, that'll sort em!

  19. @pabloamigo

lol, yup, probably mindwarp her too. i cant handle that on a bad day, and i was a demon at 2097 ;)
