Global Network Lockdown

Kotaku has got loads of comments on this issue

Sony are also 'aware that many of you are having difficulty'

[EDIT 6:00PM] Official line from Sony, DO NOT USE YOUR PS3 PHATTY!

"We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data."

  2. My collection or pertinent statements so far (including what can be done to address the problem & thoughts on why Sony are not commenting beyond acknowledging the problem) at present:

Anybody unable to sign into playstation network right now? Error code "8001050F"

(Page 9, although I do comment further back in the thread as well)

The last statement on Page #9 I feel is probably the most important to take away from the thread...

What I will add, though, is that although this is an inconvenience to many of us (and as some of you will know I am a video games fan), it is just a home entertainment system. We still have a roof over our heads, clothing, heating, food on the table, and money in our pockets.

Some people in the world do not have any of those & will never know what a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii console looks like (never mind find their gaming time is interrupted for just a single day, a week, or whatever).

    Just put it into perspective.

  9. my phat bastard is now in hybernation-mode - snuggled up under a blanket with a large brandy and big bag of pr0n. I think he'll be safe there until Kaz whats-his-name gives us the all clear. It just ain't worth the risk of losing my single platinum trophy!

Seriously Sony how hard can it be to correctly establish a leap year from within the firmware?!

if (year modulo 4 is 0) and (year modulo 100 is not 0) or (year modulo 400 is 0)
    then is_leap_year
    else
    not_leap_year
